Dell X1018 Ethernet Switch

(Have accidentally posted this question to the network support group, posting here because it seems to be more appropriate in this location)

Hi,

I am evaluating a Dell X1018 Ethernet switch for use in our networks.  I have the following comments/questions:

1. We find that the switch takes a long time to boot up.  Our older 2824 switches booted up faster.  Are there any plans to fix this?
2. Our devices use link local addressing to self configure their IP addresses.  The expected behavior is that the switch will respond to the device DHCP discover message and reassign the IP address according to normal DHCP rules.  Has anyone seen this?  It doesn't seem to work on the X1018.  The older 2824 switches worked perfectly with this scheme.
