I've recently enabled VRRP and have noticed some issues where either the speed appears slow, or there are time outs. For example connecting via RDP to desktops can time out saying the network connection has timed out, or application that rely on a SQL back-end run slower than normal. Without VRRP it returns back to normal.
As some background information, with have a Dell PowerConnect 8164F as a primary router with 10Gbit Optics going to 19 switch stacks across the campus (these are PC5548). There are also 2 x PowerConnect 7024F setup as a stack (using the stacking module). These are connected via 1Gbit Optics. STP is enabled and according to the switches when looking at the STP port settings, the ports are not actively being used on the 1Gbits/s therefore I believe that STP works fine. The PC7024F and PC8164F are connected via 2 x 10Gbits/s setup as LAG. Ports are trunked as appropriate. VLANs are correctly configured on both switches. When I look at the VRRP details - there is only one master (8064F) and one slave. Everything else appears to be mirrored, where possible, with the configuration of the two.
Does anybody have any ideas please?
