I have a network built from Dell PowerConnect switches and Dell W-IAP205 WAPS and I have noticed some strange behaviour.
In troubleshooting a hardware device connected to the wired network, I have seen that a small UDP packet (12 bytes of UDP data - 54 bytes on the wire) gets padded out to 60 bytes on the wire as expected, however the padding is nonzero data.
The problem only seems to happen when communicating with devices connected to the WIRED network from clients connected to the WIRELESS network. Traffic across the wired network seems unaffected so I suspect it to be the access points or the combination of the wired and wireless gear.
Ordinarily this would not be an issue and in fact 99% of our devices work perfectly, but it is causing some issues with some specific hardware used in our arts centre. As I also cannot guess where the data is originating from it is also possible this could be a security issue if the data is being leaked from other network traffic
