Managing a M8024k through a M6348.

Hello!

So the idea here is to be able to manage a M8024k switch through the M6348 without stacking.  If this makes sense.

The M6348 and the M8024k are both initially setup to allow management through the OOB port.  I have 3 VLANs on the M8024K VLAN 1, VLAN 7, and VLAN 88.  I can successfully remove OOB management on the M6348 and create a MACL that restricts access to only one IP via HTTPS or SSH through VLAN 7.

I want to be able to do this on the M8024k as well.  The M8024K initially has no VLAN other than VLAN 1. Everything was done through OOB.

I've connected the M6348 to the M8024k via 10Gb ports Te1/0/1 and Te1/2/4 respectively.  I've created  VLAN 10 on both switches and configured the ports as trunk ports.  I can remove OOB management on both switches, but I can only get it to work properly on VLAN 7 on the M6348.  When I try to transfer the OOB IP to VLAN 10, nothing works.

The idea here is to restrict management on the switches to vlan 10 and then create the same MACL for both.  Am I going in the right direction?  I imagine I have to do something with routing, but I'm not sure what. Is what I'm doing even possible?  I've read some forum posts about needed a layer 3 switch to configure routing.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
