Port security 6248

Hi,

I have a phone and a PC plugged into a switch port I'm trying to configure port security on.  I've enabled port security with:

switch(config-if-3/g43)#port security max 2

switch(config-if-3/g43)#port security discard trap 30

However, the port discards straight away?  Below is the output from switch#show ports security addresses ethernet 3/g43.  The Dynamic addresses show 67?  If I increase the port security max setting to 100 the port comes up and I can see the phone and the PC's MAC addresses under Learned addresses.  

switch#show ports security addresses ethernet 3/g43

Dynamic addresses: 67

Maximum addresses: 100

Learned addresses
------- ---------

What are the 67 dynamic addresses?

Do I need to reset the Dynamic addresses counter and if so how?  I've tried re-adding port security to the port and shutting the port down but the counter doesn't ever reset.
