Dell 6224 to Dell 3524 Trunking

I've been working on a configuration between 3 locations with roughly .5 mile separation transporting (2) seperate VLAN's acrossed the wireless bridged network.   The far end terminations are to a Dell 224 and 3524 respectively.  My configuration has the WAN facing switch port of the 6224 in GENERAL mode allowing both VLAN's acces.  The far end 3524 has it's WAN facing port set to TRUNK mode allowing all VLAN's access to it.  In my lab,  I'd pre-configured the switches in GENERAL/GENERAL mode in order to get the traffic flowing.  TRUNK to TRUNK mode wouldn't function between the 2 units.   Does the 2 switches have any known interoperability limitations that would prohibit me from configuring both ends as TRUNKS?
