I was out and someone installed several powerconnect 7048p switches.
I have been trying to login to them so I can setup snmp ( i like to know what is on each port), but no luck so far.
I tried the serial to rj45 cable to the console port using putty, but not getting any connection.
connection settings are correct, but the only machine I had that has a serial connection is old and was on a shelf.
I thought I read somewhere that the OOB port could get an IP from DHCP automatically, so I connected the OOB port on the 7048P to a port on my procurve switch via cat 5 patch cable, but I do not see where it grabbed any addresses via dhcp. it is lit up, but not grabbing DHCP address.
what am I missing here?
