Better to stack n1548 or uplink 10GbE?

Hi Dell Community.

We have a stack of 2 n1548 we use in the role of access switches for phones and computers. This switch also handles routed fiber connections to our remote offices.

We had an old Cisco 3750g that handled our modest inventory of storage appliances and esxi hosts, but have just replaced it with an new third n1548.

Right now the storage n1548 is simply uplinked at 1gbe to the stack of 2 access n1548's like the old Cisco was. Performance is acceptable, but obviously we can do better very easily.

Which brings me to my question: would it be better to stack it with the other two? or to uplink at 10gbe?

I would think that adding the third switch to the stack would give the best performance and most convenient manageability, but is there any philosophical or technical advantage to keeping this unit separate and just uplinking it, that I am not considering?

Thanks for your comments.
