I have 2 Dell PowerConnect 5524 switches that had previous configurations done by other people. We are trying to bring them in a stacked configuration.
I hit the "RESET" button on the front of the chassis, held it for a minute. I then tried setting my PC to:
PC 192.168.2.2
Gateway 192.168.2.1
Subnet 255.255.255.0
That did absolutely nothing. The other switch after holding reset will not connect either. It is still responding via the DHCP IP it is getting 192.168.175 - but then at the password screen I tried admin/ admin, admin/ password, admin/ (left password blank) and etc. Nothing worked.
I guess the physical reset buttons do not work? I do not have the RJ-45 console cable to try the console methods. Does anyone know the correct part # for this?
