I'm sorry if this question belongs in another section but as it relates to the functionality of these switches I thought I'd start here.
My question is, does the M6220 and 8024-K out-of-band connection go through the onboard connections (say port 18 for example) or through the M1000e's CMC connection?
The reason for this question. We recently vlaned our network and the CMC modules are on VLAN 8 (10.100.8.0 255.255.248.0) and our switches' management is supposed to be on VLAN 1 (10.100.1.0 255.255.255.0) . I'm unable to ping the assigned IP addresses (IE 10.100.1.15) but our CMC modules are fully accessible (IE10.100.9.120). Our blades are fully accessible and can access all VLANs needed on them (they're ESX hosts).
Lastly I'm sorry if not all the information needed has been provided, I'm not so much a networking guru.
