My family has a small business. We currently have an old Dell PowerConnect 2716 data switch. It's pretty old and we've run out of ports so I'm looking to upgrade this device.
A local recycle shop is offering a pretty good deal on a Dell PowerConnect 3548, 48-port switch.
For data, we use Cbeyond, a local data and email provider. They claim that they can also host our IP addressing as well.
What they asked me to do, if I buy a new data switch, was to make sure the switch is just configured in 'pass-through' mode so that the workstations pass through the switch and grab Cbeyond's IP addresses. Can this particular switch do that? Also, will this appy to IPV4 and IPV6?
