Hello Im trying to setup a vlan on my powerconnect 2824 I would like ports 2,4 and 23 to be vlan 6, the rest of the ports can stay vlan1 with my data network.
the data network works fine and is uplinked on one of the Ethernets in vlan 1
I have a separate network coming into the port 23 sfp port and would like them routed to ports 2 and 4
the problem I have is I can setup the vlan on Ethernet all day long but I need the uplink to come in through fiber to the switch , eithernet is not an option.
so If I setup vlan 6 on ports 2,4,23 I get no network on ports 2,4 if sfp is being used (I know its a combo port and its either one or the other) BUT if I use Ethernet on port 23 vlan 6 works fine, what am I doing wrong?
this is a lab im working on to build a network somewhere else so please no work arounds I need it to work as I described, sfp uplink to ports 2,4 on vlan 6
the vlan only needs to be on that switch and does not need to be Trunked anywhere else, I have setup ports 2,4,23 with pvid 6 and have mark those ports with U
