Hello,
I have some doubts, kindly help me to figure it out.
i just want to know how stack switches behave, like once we made them stack the standby switch will not pass any traffic? there are no need for spanning tree? will automatically work on active and passive?
what i have done:-
:-there are QSFP module installed into both the switches. form Switch 1 Port 1 connected to Switch two port two, and switch one port two connected to switch two port one. is it ok? or i should connect parallel.?
now Show Switch command shows second switch is standby, and on the back panel of the master switch led is solid blue and slave switch led is solid amber. I hope i done well.
i have, Dell power Vault MD3820I san Storage with two controller card, each controller have two iscsi ports. and i connected both of them with both the switches.
like:- controller 0/Port0/Switch1/Port2
Controller 0/Port1/Switch2/Port2
Controller 1/Port0/switch1/Port3
Controller 1/port1/switch2/port3
And,
I have Dell Power Edge R720 Server with dual 10G interface, i have installed Red Hat 7.2.
and done the Bonding between two 10G interface, Active backup mode.
10G Port/Switch1/Port4
10G Port/Switch2/Port4
Now, the issue i am facing is:-
whenever i try to create Session from dell utility software to manage SAN storage its says time out and when i remove the bonding from 10G interface and use only single interface it works fine.
I am little confused that the issue because of loop or what, may be because of stack switches or do not know what, kindly help me out from this situation and let me know what should i do ?
