I have a pair of Powerconnect 5424 switches that have been in service for quite some time for our EqualLogic arrays. We are now adding a Compellent SC4020 to the mix, and due to the PowerConnects not liking the SFP+ 10Gbps Twinax cables (the switches did show something there, they did not link up on the Compellent), we need to use the Base-T ports on the Compellent.
I have one of the Base-T ports configured and linked no problem. The problem is with the first port which is the management port. There are currently two separate MAC addresses with separate IPs for management (One is the BMC and the other is the Compellent management IP), and there is now a third MAC address available to that port after the upgrade to 6.7 for iSCSI.
If I configure the port on the switch for my LAN VLAN, obviously I can get to the management IPs, and obviously, the Compellent would not be able to contact the iSCSI VLAN on that port (If I were to configure it). If I configure the port default to the iSCSI VLAN, the opposite is true.
In poking around the switch, it *appears* as if it may be possible to configure a port to send traffic for a specific MAC Address to a specific VLAN using the Static Address, but if so, I must be missing something because I couldn't get it to work.
Any thoughts?
