Ok so I purchased a layer 3 switch as we are small and the ISP will not let us have access to their border router.
I would like to setup Vlans.
I'm pretty sure I can do all the internal configs no problem.
Basically trunk existing layer 2 switch infrastructure to the layer 3.
Create Vlans on layer 3 and assign them IP addresses that will be used as default gateways for each vlan.
Enable DHCP relay on layer 3 and point it to the IP address of my DC where my DHCP resides with the proper DHCP scopes and subnet gateways etc. (I think thats what I do but not 100% sure)
Now for internet access on all these vlans. i need to set a static route to 0.0.0.0 via next hop ip (firewall) but... this has to be an access link to the firewall. will the layer three say untag vlan 30 data and send it out to the internet?
