So we are running a bunch of Dell Power Edge 6248 switches in our enterprise (about 14 in our two core stacks) and a few other edge switches, all up to firmware version 3.3.5.5.
My problem is the current version allows only a very small amount of sflow samplers (32 max per stack) almost useless in most cases and since we can't monitor VLAN's and or LAG's it makes it even less useful. I've read the change log all the way up to the current version of firmware 3.3.8.2 and don't see plans for sflow expansion anywhere in there.
My question is two fold:
1) Is there any vision on the future roadmap for this device to make sflow more robust, I.E. add more ports? If so when?
2) That aside how have people worked around this? I documented most of my important ports, and I blew past 32 a long time ago. I'm using several Netflow/Sflow gatherers (Plixer, Solarwinds) and would like to get sampling data for all my ports if possible.
