Hi,
I have a stack of 7048's and we run Lync phones. There is a voice vlan for the phones but, with Lync, some of the audio and video traffic will be on the workstation vlan. Lync uses DSCP marking for qos and I can use group policy to mark traffic from clients and servers any way I like and the phone mark voice traffic with 46. I have never configured diffserve before but I very much want to be running qos.
Here are my questions:
Do I even need to configure classes and policies if the clients are marking all the traffic? Seems like I really just need the switches to prioritize based on these markings..
If I do need to config, what would that look like? I see options in the GUI to mark the traffic based on all sorts of criteria, what if the traffic is already marked?
Should I add a policy anyways for the voice vlan? Just to make sure that everything in that vlan has a 46..
Thanks!!
