Powerconnect 2848 1.0 QoS VOIP

$

Hi!

Can someone please tell me how I can configure Voice QoS on the Powerconnect 2848 (or if there is any documentations besides the userguide that explains it better)?

I want all ports on the switch to prioritize VOIP.

No other configurations is done on the switch as it is now.

Thanks

2708 power connect, put in managed mode, go to Chrome and point to address 192.168.2.1 from my PC on 192.168.2.18.  Login screen comes up, enter "Admin" and leave pwd empty, click ok, and I can see the pwd textbox fill with a long hidden string, then "error no such user" is generated and I can't get in.

checked my saved passwords list and nothing conflicts where it'd load automatically.  any suggestions?

Thanks...

Hello again and thanks in advance.
The question is; as I can make an IP other than the OOB, can be setup for my switch.
I need a way to configure the switch without having to physically go to the switch
Thank you

Simulate MLAG on N1524 stack?

Hi,

I know from the documentation that the N1500 series does not support MLAG. But if I have stacked 2 N1524s, can I create a normal LAG with links on both switches?

For example, with 2 stacked switches, is it possible to put port Gi1/0/10 and port Gi2/0/10 into a LAG?

Kind regards,
Sean

N-series: VLANs learned via GVRP keep disappearing

$

Hi,

We have just began replacing our old switch gear with Dell N-series switchs (N2000 and N4000).

We have been observing annoying issues with GVRP. The VLANs are defined on the core switches of a building and the wiring closet switches should get the VLAN information via GVRP. This works usually but at random intervals the wiring closet switches don't know about the VLANS advertised by GVRP; only the ones defined by vlan makestatic command. The interval between these issues varies from 5 seconds to 500 seconds based on my observations. The same issue can be observed in all the three buildings currently equipped with Dell switches and on every switch using GVRP. We have tried changing the GARP timers but without success. All the switches run software version 6.2.7.2. What could I do to find out the cause of this issue or to find a workaround?

Best regards,

Matti

snmp-server agent boot count x

This weekend my Powerconnect 7048 config changed and I received an alert.  The line
snmp-server agent boot count 6 changed to snmp-server agent boot count 7.  I see that AGENT isn't even an option from (config)# snmp-server command.  I see this line all over in the forums when folks post their running-config, but I've never found an explanation of what it's telling me.  Anybody know?

Sonicwall Soho

I just got my Sonicwall SOHO and am trying to get it to work. I cannot get traffic to pass from the WAN to the LAN. When I check WAN settings, it appears to not be getting an IP address. It will briefly show an IP address that looks reasonable then change it to 0.0.0.0. My WAN does support DHCP. I've tried configuring DNS manually and automatically. Nothing seems to be working.

X1000 series POE failure

I've had an ongoing issue with one of our X1000 series switches.  The switch has been replaced already.  Every once in a while the POE will fail on the switch.  The switch will not power off and is still capable of transmitting data to other end devices.  When I reboot the switch the POE works fine again, for a while.

%HAL_config_poe-A-POEFailDetected: POE ERROR(************** Poe Fail Detected *****************************) was detected

%HAL_config_poe-A-POEFailDetected: POE ERROR(send_recieve_msg. Send Msg [9] HALP_config_poe_691xx_msg_GetNewPortStatus_E With Echo 67, Received Msg [1]: err no_recieve) was detected

These are the Error messages I find when I go back through the logging.

Network Issues after enabling VRRP

$

Hello,

I've recently enabled VRRP and have noticed some issues where either the speed appears slow, or there are time outs.  For example connecting via RDP to desktops can time out saying the network connection has timed out, or application that rely on a SQL back-end run slower than normal.  Without VRRP it returns back to normal.

As some background information, with have a Dell PowerConnect 8164F as a primary router with 10Gbit Optics going to 19 switch stacks across the campus (these are PC5548).  There are also 2 x PowerConnect 7024F setup as a stack (using the stacking module).  These are connected via 1Gbit Optics.  STP is enabled and according to the switches when looking at the STP port settings, the ports are not actively being used on the 1Gbits/s therefore I believe that STP works fine.  The PC7024F and PC8164F are connected via 2 x 10Gbits/s setup as LAG.  Ports are trunked as appropriate.  VLANs are correctly configured on both switches.  When I look at the VRRP details - there is only one master (8064F) and one slave.  Everything else appears to be mirrored, where possible, with the configuration of the two.

Does anybody have any ideas please?

Dell PowerConnect M6220 and 6348M EoL

Greetings,

I have to Dell enclosures in my department, and we want to know the End Of Life of these two machines and also of their software.

I do not know if this is already a thread in the forums, but I have been searching and have not found it.

The machines are:

  • Dell PowerConnect M6220 with software version 5.0.1.3
  • Dell PowerConnect 6348M with Software version 5.1.7.5

Thanks in advance. Best regards

Francisco

5.0.1.3

Web GUI down on 5524P & 5548P after firmware update.

I have two 5524P switches & a 5548P. Updated the firmware to 4.1.0.20 on all of them. After reloading, the switches are fine for several hours, but eventually the web GUI becomes unavailable. Set the image back to 4.1.0.5 on one of them & it stays up.

According to PRTG, there's no secure protocol available on 443, but if I restart the switch, the web GUI is available for several hours.

SSH login works fine.

X1052P PoE state "Other Fault"

I already connect the UniFi AP-AC-LR to Dell X1052P PoE port but doesn't work & the state of the port is shown "Other Fault". Do anyone know how to fix it or cannot be fixed?

Thanks.
